In summer 2018, I joined the BB8 Builders Club. This gave me access to the digital files to print the body and dome, as well as some instructions for assembly and design. The project was many hundreds of hours and over 10 kg of PLA plastic to print. It also required several magnets, aluminum bar, dozens of bolts, and Arduino-run lights and sounds. It is still a work in progress, and I hope to get it rolling someday—or at least staged for something more interesting and useful like a holo projection system.
